This Life project focuses on three steppe bird species (Little Bustard, Great Bustard and Montagu’s Harrier) in serious population decline and on a representative habitat of pseudo-steppe agricultural areas (agro-steppes) in the Iberian Peninsula, seeking agricultural management models to restoring biodiversity. CIBIO’s actions are centred in:

  • Determining the breeding biology of the Little Bustard – based on tracked birds, both on tagged males and females, specifically aiming to understand the sex-ratio and productivity.
  • Studying the diet of Little Bustards
