This project aimed to analyse a long-term GPS tracking dataset of little bustards, collected by CIBIO and Junta de Extremadura between 2009 and 2020 as well as the breeding survey results that took place in 2005 and 2016 in Extremadura. The main results:

  • Determine the main mortality factors and carry out a survival analysis
  • Analysed how the breeding habitat varied between the 2005 and 2016 censuses, and which environmental variables were related to the decline of the Little Bustard in Extremadura
  • Analysed the variation in the reproductive phenology of the little bustard in relation to extreme climate events and future climate predictions
